What It Really Means to Come Home to Yourself

In this first episode of Radiantly Rooted with Rachel, we explore what it really means to come home to yourself.

You ever look around at this life you built,  the one you fought for, and still think something’s missing?

Your days are full. The to-do list never quits. Everyone needs you for something. And still, there’s this quiet feeling underneath it all. A longing for something softer, something real, something that feels like you.

If that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place, my friend.

I created the Radiantly Rooted with Rachel podcast for midlife women who feel a little “off,” a little disconnected, and a bit unsure about how to come back to themselves without undoing everything they’ve worked so hard for.

Because I’ve felt that too, and I’ve learned how to shift from just getting through the day to actually being in it and thriving.

So, let’s take a breath together… and dive in.

A little about me and how I got here

I’m Rachel Hupp, yoga teacher, life coach, and your guide in the art of self-trust.

But before all that, I was a woman checking every box. College, check. Degree, check. Big (to me) house, check. A life that looked good on paper. And still, I felt hollow.

I realized I didn’t know what I wanted. I’d lost touch with my body, my joy, and my sense of purpose.

Then I found my way back through yoga, through breath, through mindfulness, through a million tiny moments of remembering how to listen to myself again.

Now I live in a tiny cabin in the woods with my soulmate and our little zoo. I’ve spent the past decade teaching yoga, coaching women, and creating spaces where they can reconnect with who they are.

And the Radiantly Rooted podcast is the next chapter of that work. This podcast was born from my own journey of coming home to myself.

Why a podcast and why now?

Well, it’s because the women I work with and love working with are almost always in the middle of something big.

Becoming a parent for the first time. Letting go as the kids leave home. Stepping into retirement. Caring for aging loved ones. Navigating heartbreak. Starting again. Figuring out what’s next.

And I know that transitions like these can leave you feeling like a stranger in your own life.

So I wanted to create a space that meets you right where you are. Not ten steps ahead, not where you “should” be or think you should be. Right where you are. Right here, right now.

This podcast is gonna be a mix of storytelling, soul-soothing tools, and gentle nudges to help you come home to yourself. One small step at a time.

It’s also deeply personal.

Now, if you’re familiar with the Magic Mindfulness podcast, I podcasted for over a year under that name, and I had so much fun with it. And while that chapter was full of beauty and creativity and I got to talk with some really, really amazing and insightful guests, I’ve evolved and so has the work. And so this new name, Radiantly Rooted, feels closer to the heart of what I’m really here to offer.

This podcast is also my way of giving back, of reaching the women who need support but don’t really know where to begin, who wants something that feels grounded and kind, who are craving, connection and calm and clarity. That’s the heart of Radiantly Rooted, helping you come home to yourself.

Quote graphic from the Radiantly Rooted with Rachel Podcast, Episode 1. The quote reads: “We’re sold a version of wellness that’s more pressure than peace… Radiantly Rooted is my answer to all of that.” Calming beige background with teal circle outline and the podcast title and Rachel Hupp’s name at the bottom.

The challenges I see again and again

The women I work with tend to say some version of the same thing:

They’ve lost track of who they are after decades of doing and giving. They feel unsure of what’s next or how to even hear their own voice again.

They live in their heads. Can you relate? I know I can! Always second guessing, always trying to get it all just right and constantly worrying if they’re doing enough or being enough.

Not more stuff, but more meaning. More breath, more ease, more presence.

And these things don’t shout at you. They whisper.

  • You wake up tired, even after sleeping through the night.
  •  You say yes when your whole body wants to say no.
  •  You wonder if this is all life is supposed to be.
  •  You feel like you’re drifting, like life is happening around you and you’re just watching.

So what’s getting in the way?

Honestly? A lot.

  • We’re taught that our worth comes from how much we can produce, how much we can do.
  • We’re sold a version of wellness that’s more pressure than peace.
  • We’re told yoga is about abs and flexibility instead of wholeness and homecoming.
  • And we’re handed a story about midlife that says we’re fading when we’re actually waking up.

Radiantly Rooted is my answer to all of that.

It’s a space to slow down enough to listen inward, to remember who you are underneath all the roles and all the noise without needing to fix anything, without pretending everything’s fine.

What becomes possible when you come back home to yourself?

When you begin coming home to yourself…

  •  You trust your gut again.
  •  You feel more at home in your life, not because everything changes, but because you do.
  •  You say no without guilt and yes with joy.
  •  You stop chasing worthiness and start living from it.
  •  You feel grounded, clear, and capable, even when things feel hard.

This is not about perfection, my friend. It’s about presence, and it is so worth it. Let me tell you.

Why I’m the right guide for this space

And so you might be asking, well, Rachel, why are you the right guide for this space?

And it’s because I’ve lived it. I know what it feels like to be disconnected from yourself. And I know the way back.

Yoga has been my anchor for over 25 years now. My training combines cognitive behavioral tools, neuroscience, coaching, mindfulness, and breath. What I offer is soulful, but it’s also practical. Ancient meets modern.

I also see midlife differently. I don’t believe it’s a crisis or a decline. I believe it’s a sacred turning point.

This podcast honors that.

What makes the Radiantly Rooted podcast different?

  1. Well, you’ll get real talk on how to live your yoga off the mat
  2. Short, soulful episodes made to fit into your real life
  3. Grounded conversations designed for midlife women
  4. Breathwork, rituals, mindset, tools you can actually use
  5. You can listen on your walk, watch on YouTube, or read the blog

So whether you’re commuting, folding laundry, or sipping your morning coffee, this show has a place in your life.

What I’ve heard from listeners

The response to my podcast has been humbling and so beautiful.

“This was just what I needed to hear today.”

“I feel calmer and more grounded every time I listen.”

“Your podcast is part of my weekly ritual now.”

How amazing is that?! Even at the grocery store, women will stop me to say they look forward to every new episode. That, my friend, tells me this work matters. It’s landing, it’s helping.

Where I’m headed

I believe the wellness space is evolving and we’re ready for more depth, more honesty, more real.

I see the coaching and yoga world shifting away from hustle and perfection, and toward embodiment and wholeness. And I believe midlife women are leading that shift.

We are done trying to prove ourselves and we’re ready to trust ourselves.

Radiantly Rooted is part of that movement, and it’s also the foundation for something bigger, an ecosystem of retreats, courses, and coaching programs that help women remember they were never lost. Just a little out of reach.

Final thoughts

So before we wrap things up, I wanna leave you just with a few final thoughts today, and that is you don’t have to stay stuck.

You do not have to start from scratch, and you don’t have to do this alone.

This podcast is your reminder, gentle and true, that you already hold the wisdom you need. You just need a quiet moment to hear it, to learn to listen in, to relearn how to listen again.

So let’s start there.

And in the next episode, we’ll explore three simple ways to reconnect with yourself, even if you’ve been doing everything “right” and still feel off.

We’ll talk about the power of pause, listening to your body before you say yes, and small rituals that help you come home to you.

There’s no pressure, no overhaul. Just presence.

So stay tuned and I’ll meet you there.
Rachel
