Hello, and welcome to this bonus episode of Radiantly Rooted. Today, I’m going to walk you through this journal or guide: Spring Reset: Clear the Clutter Within. A soulful guide to help you release, realign, and reconnect, one gentle shift at a time.
As I am recording this, it is mid-February, and as I like to sometimes call it jokingly, “Febru-weary” (because by now we’re kind of weary of the winter). We’re weary of the cold and we’re looking forward to the longer, brighter days, and also maybe feeling a sense of wanting out with the old and in with the new, in our physical lives and in our mental lives as well.
If you haven’t listened to Part 1 of this series about why you’re overwhelmed, I’d recommend starting there to understand the lint trap effect before diving into this guide.
You can download your own copy of this guide at rachelhupp.com/spring so you can work through it at your own pace.
You can watch the step-by-step walkthrough on YouTube, listen on your favorite podcast platform, or keep reading below.
In This Guide
Welcome: Real Transformation Starts Within
As we are approaching spring, it is a beautiful time for clearing and resetting, but as you may know, real transformation doesn’t start in your closet. It starts within you.
And so this guide is your invitation to slow down, just a little bit, and reflect. To clear the clutter within, not just in your schedule, but in your energy, your thoughts, your body, and your spirit.
And so over the next few pages, I’m going to walk you through four gentle invitations to help you release what’s no longer serving you so that you can reconnect with what truly matters.
This is not about pressure or perfection, my friend (perfectionist right here). It’s just about awareness, alignment, and making one small, meaningful, mindful shift at a time towards that radiantly rooted life that you’re really craving.
So when you’re ready, let’s dive in.
“Real transformation doesn’t start in your closet. It starts within you.”
Step 1: Notice What’s Full (A Gentle Moment of Awareness)
Where in your life do you feel full, but not in a good way? Maybe it’s a sense of overwhelm, a sense of dread.
What habits or roles, rhythms or routines have stopped feeling aligned for you? What are you doing that doesn’t feel like it fits anymore?
And a reminder: we’re not trying to fix anything here, we’re just trying to build that awareness. So just name it.
Reflection Questions:
1. What feels heavy in your day-to-day rhythm right now?
You can jot that down, you can journal about it, you can reflect upon it. Something might come up immediately. You already know what it is. You might need to reflect on it or start to pay a little more attention.
2. Where in your body do you notice tension or resistance?
Mine is in my shoulders and my jaw most of the time. See what comes up for you.
3. What am I still doing simply because I always have?
Is there something that you maybe don’t need to do anymore? Is there something that we can delegate to somebody else? And again, right now we’re just building that awareness. But as you move through your day to day, what are you still doing just because you’ve always done it?
All right, and then when you’re ready, no rush here, head on to step two.
Step 2: Release with Compassion (Letting Go with Love, Not Guilt)
Now, you don’t need to justify what you are ready to release. You can let go because your peace matters.
Letting go is not failure, it’s freedom. You are allowed to change your mind. You’re allowed to grow and evolve. You’re allowed to grow out of what no longer fits.
“Letting go is not failure, it’s freedom. You are allowed to grow out of what no longer fits.”
So take a deep breath. And then tune in with your inner voice, your inner being, and ask:
Reflection Questions:
1. What belief, habit, or role am I ready to release?
You can jot it in the comments if you want to. I’d love to see what’s coming up for you.
2. What helped me before, but feels heavy now?
And if all of these questions don’t resonate with you, you don’t have to answer them right away. You can come back to them or just sit with them, see if anything comes up as you take time to reflect.
3. What would it feel like to let this go, but gently?
That might look like, if you’re cleaning out your closet, letting the outfits that have served you well go on to find a new home to bless somebody else. So that positive, powerful intention behind it, that releasing, letting go.
Take your time with part two. When you’re ready, you can move on to step three.
Step 3: Realign with What You Desire (Come Back to What Truly Lights You Up)
So once you clear the clutter within, there’s space to hear yourself again. And in that space you can reconnect with the values, the desires, and the rhythms, the routines, the habits, the rituals that feel true and right and aligned for you.
And so this is where intention replaces obligation. This is where alignment begins. This is where we really start to root into the truth of who we are and create that radiantly rooted life that reflects it from the outside looking in.
Reflection Questions:
1. What does a soul-aligned day look and feel like to me?
And go ahead and dream big here. In your perfect world, what would a soul-aligned day feel and look like to you?
2. What are you craving more of right now?
And it might be more of less, right? Might be more space. See what comes up for you.
3. What would nourish you deeply, even in just a small way?
What would nourish you deeply even in a little way?
“Once you clear the clutter within, there’s space to hear yourself again.”
Step 4: Anchor One Gentle Shift (Let It Be Small, Let It Be Real)
And this step four is pretty powerful.
I want to remind you that you don’t have to try to change everything, and in fact, if you do, it’s going to feel probably overwhelming. Instead, I invite you to begin right where you are, right here, right now, with one aligned action.
That might mean:
- Setting a new healthy boundary
- Taking a few minutes in the morning to settle in with your breath or to set an intention for the day
- A truth that you finally let yourself admit out loud
I’ll tell you, small shifts can create big ripples in the tapestry of your day-to-day life.
Reflection Questions:
1. What is one small shift that you are ready to commit to this week?
And again, it doesn’t have to take long. It just has to be meaningful. It has to feel supportive.
2. How can you make that shift feel simple and supportive?
3. What affirmation or mantra would help to anchor this in?
So take your time with this. I just want you to know that I am proud of you for showing up here for yourself. You are doing it one small, aligned action at a time. That’s all it takes.
You’re Doing the Work
This work matters. Even one moment of reflection is an act of self-trust. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You don’t need to force anything.
You are allowed to go slow, to grow gently, to come home to yourself one breath at a time.
So keep going. You are on your way and I am so honored to walk beside you.
“Small shifts can create big ripples in the tapestry of your day-to-day life.”
